Jeff Bezos was already the richest man on the planet since 2017. But since the world went into a pandemic, he seems to be hitting new records every other day. Last Wednesday, he set a new milestone and became the first person worth $202 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires index.
Amazon’s shares have been skyrocketing since the inception of 2020. Due to the pandemic, there has been a shift in consumer online shopping behavior, thus explaining all the new records. The company’s stock has risen about 86% from January and 25% from the last three months. Not only Amazon, but he also owns Washington Post, an aerospace company named Blue Origin and many other private investments. The only other person who ever reached Bezos’s closest was Bill Gates, who was the world’s first-ever centibillionaire.
