After a month-long competition filled with excitement and intrigue, the Grand Finale of Samsung presents MarXcellence, associate sponsored by Sundarban Courier Service was held on January 29, marking the successful completion of the much-acclaimed event hosted by Marketing and International Business Club of North South University (NSU MIBC).
Samsung presents MarXcellence is a digital marketing competition for undergraduate students nationwide that featured almost 300 teams from across the country, making it the biggest such competition in Bangladesh. The goal of the event was to create a platform for the bright young minds of the country to showcase their marketing mettle. To bring students closer to the corporate world, the event featured several of the leading marketing figures in the country. For the very first time in the country, Samsung Bangladesh affiliated with a university student club in sponsoring this event, a proud landmark moment for NSU MIBC.
Having battled through two intensely contested competition rounds, the top six teams qualified for the Grand Finale to contend to be the top young digital marketers of the country. The finalists presented their innovative ideas and unique solutions to a panel of esteemed judges.
Ultimately, Team GS and the Boys, from North South University, were crowned the Champions of MarXcellence, taking home prize money of 80,000 BDT alongside the championship title. The 1st Runners-Up were Quarterback, from Bangladesh University of Professionals, who received 50,000 BDT, and the 2nd Runners-Up were Team Fan Club, from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, who received 30,000 BDT.
The Grand Finale was graced by Chief Guest H.E. Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, the Hon’ble Minister of Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology. The Special Guest of the evening was Mr. M. A. Kashem, Chairman of North South University Board of Trustees. Present as a Guest of Honor was Mr. Hwansung Woo, Managing Director, Samsung Electronics Bangladesh.
The successful completion of MarXcellence was a great achievement for NSU MIBC, especially having hosted the event completely virtually. NSU MIBC was founded on July 2nd, 2019, as the only student club operating under the largest department of North South University, the Department of Marketing and International Business. NSU MIBC continuously partners with reputed multinational and local companies as well as the leading corporate figures of the country in order to empower university students in the fields of marketing and international business, and help them ultimately bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world.
