Disasters amidst the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in several renowned celebrities, artists, cricketers putting up their iconic belongings for auction with only one goal in mind – ensuring financial assistance to those in need. And latest joining the noble charade was Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the former captain in all three formats of the Bangladesh national cricket team.
The legendary steel bracelet, which was worn by Mashrafe throughout his remarkable 18-year long career, was put up for auction and it was broadcasted live on the ‘Auction 4 Action’ Facebook page. Although the base value was set at 5 lakh taka, Mashrafe’s bracelet stacked up astonishingly huge bids and was finally sold off at a gigantic price of 42 lakh taka.
But pure magic awaited – Mominul Islam, the honorable CEO and Managing Director of IPDC Finance announced that the bracelet would be gifted to Mashrafe himself, leaving him speechless and in utter awe. And Mashrafe in reply said that he’ll also not wear the glorious bracelet until it’s officially presented back to him after the lockdown ends.
