Hear from The Teachers

Hear from The Teachers

For a situation that never took place before, this pandemic is surely keeping us all in a distraught state. For the youth who are not yet home quarantined but living their lives with no changes in it, and also for the ones who are home quarantined but slowly turning frustrated, here’s what the teachers have to say to you all.

If my seven years of teaching in a University has taught me anything, that is- the youth are the most important agents of transformative changes. This isn’t flattery. This isn’t false modesty. This is the truth. I have seen how they defy odds to achieve great things. Financial insecurities, depression, anxiety, addiction, attention deficiency, failed relationships-I have seen them fighting against these monsters and bounce back. YOU are everything we could hope for people. Stay at home. I don’t want to downplay your effort by saying-‘your grandfather was called for war, you have been asked to stay home, you can do it’. Rather, I would say- You are making a BIG difference by staying home. Our forefathers’ effort inevitably cost many lives because they were in a war. And war involves mass casualties. Your effort however will cost many lives, if you don’t do the opposite; stay home. So, stay at home. Paint, sing a song, or write one, have a meaningful conversation with your mom, ask your father to tell you the stories of the war that he has seen himself or heard from your grandfather, argue with your siblings then play a board game together or fight over PlayStation, read stories, watch movies, learn something new, cook, pray to nourish your soul, and above all, let’s make memories. When was the last time you were fighting a monster while having great times with your family? I know the answer- NEVER. Let’s do it folks. Let’s make memories.

In such a grave situation, it is best we stay home and keep everyone safe. It is not a time to have fun outdoors as our country prepares for avoiding a mass outbreak of the virus. Better to stay home and remain productive by utilizing online education platforms.

Dear students, At this moment of crisis and anxiety, all of you need to do is be careful of your activities and stay alerted for symptoms of Coronavirus. However, your social media posts are expressing stress and frustration to stay at home at the moment. On the contrary, you are chilling out with friends and mates outside. At this point of time, your sense of responsibility and citizenship behavior can go a long way to overcome this situation collaboratively. Instead of hanging out with friends and fellows, please maintain social distancing by staying at home. Please attend your online classes on Facebook Live, Zoom or Google Meet and take counselling from your teachers on a regular basis. Thus, you can set an example of self-leadership and be a good citizen of the country. Please stay home, save lives.

In this pandemic outbreak, students can play a vital role by staying at home, ensuring their health along with their families which will lead to avoiding the spread of the disease. Along with that students can utilize this span of time in self-development, sharing knowledge, reading books, doing online courses, learning about new software etc. N.B. Wash your hands regularly and maintain social distancing. May Allah save us all.

We are facing a pandemic right now. To win this battle, we all need to be careful. The Deadly COVID-19 can attack young adults and it’s highly contagious. You don’t want to be the reason for the death or sufferings of other people. Please stay at home to keep yourself and others safe.
Nawshin Tabassum

At this point we all know what do! Stay home, maintain social distancing. Keep yourself, your family & your community safe. While piling necessary supplements for yourself & family keep in mind your next door neighbor who probably doesn't have a fancy job as you or the rickshaw pullers & domestic support who are probably living in a slum around the corner of your street or the boy working at the tea stall you would go to regularly on normal days. Share you bread with the ones in need because this is our chance to transform ourselves from just a person to a human being.

1. First of all, I would request the students to stay at home and maintain all the hygienes that are needed to fight against Corona.

2. As many of our society are not well educated, it is a major responsibility of the students of this society to spread the messages about maintaining hygiene during this time.

3. Students may raise fund and provide some important things like Masks and Soaps to their neighbours at least (Must maintain distances)

4. Stay hydrated, fight against Corona, keep your home and society safe.

We are all together in the present scenario and it is necessary not to be panicked or stressed. As the elders are at a more vulnerable stage, and they become more panicked by the happenings - I request everyone to support the elders by all the means so that they can be in a positive state of mind. We must counter this situation by being adequately briefed and acting promptly on guidelines provided by the concerned authorities and organizations – and of course by maintaining your own safety at first. Please always remember the old Persian saying – ‘this too shall pass’.

Stay at home. Use this time positively. Besides studies, read books which are available at your home, do physical exercise and breathing exercise, spend some time in self-reflection and prayer, and pass some quality time with other members of your family. Help your mother with the regular household work. Finally, think for your country.

Hi Everybody. We, humans, are biologically very socially active species. Our default brain is unfortunately social. But now we need to teach our brain not to socialize in physical setup with other human. The best way to defeat the pandemic is to isolate ourselves from ourselves. This is the most affordable but best tactics to defeat COVID 19. Please say “YES” to Social Isolation. Please help us to save the “Homo Sapiens” the most intelligent animal in the planet earth. Stay safe.

Coronavirus has left no room for ignorance as it already took thousands of lives all over the world. In Italy, preliminary ignorance caused a generation to die. It is high time we followed the safety measures, kept social distancing and stayed at our residences. My request towards students is to shut all the outdoor activities for the sake of themselves, especially for their elderly. Because they are the most vulnerable generation in this situation. Don’t be the reason of death to a thousands and a destruction to the human civilization

Dear Students, I cant recall how many times you wanted to stay home to watch your favorite movies, series or those late night football matches kept you up and you slept the whole day. May be you were too sincere about your wish that now you are facing a probable lock down. Let us be crystal clear there is no effective method of contains COVID-19 except social distancing. It will save your life and your family and friends. At a young you will take the responsibility of becoming a savior by doing a very simple thing which is to stay at home. Watch movies, series, do online classes until the authority can contain this virus. Remember, your house will not be a “proper home” unless you practice social distancing.

Just yesterday, I went out to get some medicine at around 9pm. I expected to see a deserted Dhaka city but instead I saw a lot of shops open including restaurants. Why do we always have to wait for government instructions? Why can’t we for once use our own brains? I was appalled when I was passing in front of a restaurant in Dhanmondi. Not only was it open, but I saw a group of mid aged men standing in front of the restaurant, smoking away in glory. All of them were dressed in formals and supposedly from “educated” families. Quite a few tables were also occupied inside the restaurant. I also expected the health ministry to put forward better examples. When you turn on the T.V, you see certain common faces everyday recommending to the common people to wear face masks at all times but never have I seen them wearing the masks. They have been suggesting social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid 19 but while doing so they can be seen not following the rules themselves. About 2/3 weeks back, I have had my students come to the class with fever. I had sent them back home and their guardians had the audacity to call me and request me to let them attend the class. I declined. We had a lot of time to prepare for this but we didn’t. We had China and Italy’s example in front of us but we waited for a miracle to save us. But why? What have we done to deserve this favoritism? These ultra cool macho people might be literate but are still uneducated. There’s no time for sweet talk. If you see these people who are not abiding by the proper guidelines, shame them publicly. That’s what they deserve. And if you’re one of them, please CHANGE!

Dear Students This time we are fighting an enemy we can’t see, smell or even hear. The only current strategy to win against this enemy is to make us invisible from them. We have seen the strength of our enemy, as how it outperformed mightier Nations like China and Italy. But I believe we can self quarantine us and show how we can defeat our silent enemy COVID-19. Let’s stay back home and set an example as how to fight COVID-19 as a Nation! Don’t forget 1971 war was won by massive youth participation and 2020 war is no difference.

We are going through hitherto unprecedented circumstances. The Covid 19 pandemic has engulfed the whole world and is breeding new victims with more ferocity in some parts of humanity. Every government across the world has been brought down on their knees in lieu of this crisis. In such circumstances it becomes the solemn duty of the citizenry to act righteously and make every effort to alleviate the socioeconomic condition of the country. This can only be done if we assume and devote ourselves to our respective roles in the society. As a student your role is now to stay calm, stay cautious, promote awareness and in your capacity help your community in every other form. It is also your duty to continue with your studies in whatever platform your teachers, mentors, or institutions are facilitating learning even in these times of unforeseen uncertainty. When all is said and done believe that humanity will overcome this crisis. God willing humanity will flourish and win this fight. It is your actions that will determine whether you’ll be in the pages of history or whether you’ll end up as a generally ignored footnote. Act now.

To all the youth out there, We are going through a harsh reality, the corona pandemic. All your life you have been taught to make yourself a conscious citizen and a valuable asset to the society and to work for humanity. It's high time you do your part by being not getting panicked but rather being a patient and wise citizen by maintaining the safety measures of WHO. Stay isolated, stay safe and be the confidence of your family, society and country. Remember, we are on a war against coronavirus; brace yourself with the best possible safety measures. Stay home and stay safe. Best wishes to all.
