Voice of Business (VoB), a student-run publication from the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, have launched their yearly flagship event for 2020 – “IPDC presents BRANDrill 2020”, powered by Eclectic Education.
This year the branding competition will be held through online platforms due to the pandemic, said a press release.
VoB is the only student-run publication club in Bangladesh. In its 13 years journey, the club has successfully published 10 issues. It has also arranged a number of seminars, workshops to bridge the gap between the corporate and academic worlds.
BRANDrill is a national branding based competition for undergraduate students. It hopes to create a field for students to explore and present unique ideas for promotion and branding. Participants come up with creative plans for a real-world scenario.
There will be three rounds in the competition. The first and second rounds are supposed to be wrapped up by October and the last round will be held in November. Registered students will be provided a case to solve in the very first round. In the second round, the qualifying teams will get a chance to attend a workshop to get insights from professionals. At last, the top 10 teams will get the opportunity to fight off in the final round.
In the last season, around 200 teams participated from more than 15 universities and around 700 students submitted their solutions in the first round. Only 10 of them made it to the final.
Besides getting the opportunity to be creative and competitive, students will also be awarded prize money. A prize pool of Tk 100000 has been announced. Tk 50000, 30000, and 20000 will be awarded to the champion, first and second runners up respectively along with crests and certificates.
